Under the supervision of a RN, the Surgical Technician II scrubs for surgical procedures in the Operating Room as assigned. Provides safe cost-effective patient care throughout the preoperative, introspective, and post-operative periods to the Operating Room patient according to established LBMMC/OMC standards. Education requirements: Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited school or equivalent training. BLS certification. Successful completion of unit orientation. Successful completion of clinical competency validation. Successful completion of orientation and competency validation in the following services: Memorial Operating Room: Neurosurgical/plastic/maxillofacial, general/urological, cardiothoracic/vascular, orthopedic, ophthalmology/ENT. Women's Operating Room: Gynecological/obstetrical. Cardiovascular Operating Room: Cardiothoracic. Minimum requirements: Two years as a surgical technician in an Operating Room required.
Orange Coast will soon become one of the first hospitals in the nation to introduce a hybrid interventional cardiac suite. The new Cardiac Suite is designed for open-heart surgeries such as cardiac bypass, as well as catheter-based procedures like angioplasty. Willing to travel between LBMMC and Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center, Orange Coast will become the employer once the suite is open.
Valid California Driver's license,willing to drive between LBMMC and Orange Coast/Auto insurance
