About the Opportunity
The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist coordinates specific clinical activities within the pharmacy department or is regularly scheduled to work in more than two pharmacy areas (vacation relief). The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist coordinates clinical activities, provides educational activities to patients and health care workers, provides a billable clinical service to patients and provides regular reports to pharmacy management regarding his/her activities. The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist is competent to work as a staff pharmacist in each area where he/she provides coverage. Both classes of Clinical Pharmacist Specialist are able to meet the requirements of and regularly perform the duties of the Pharmacist job description. Must be l icensed as a pharmacist in the state of California . Minimum of 1 year of acute care hospital, pediatric clinical experience as a pharmacist is required. ASHP accredited residency in pharmacy practice is preferred. Must have the a bility to stand for up to 10 hours a day, type at least 30 WPM with accuracy, communicate effectively with patients and health care workers, and lift up to 20 lbs.
